Your clients aren’t documented.
HomeShield changes that.
A proactive inspection and documentation membership that prepares your insureds before the storm — so when a loss occurs, you’re all working from a solid foundation.
What happens between policy issuance and a claim?
For most of your clients, the answer is: nothing. No documentation, no baseline inspection, no record of condition. HomeShield closes that gap.
Storm hits. Insured calls in a panic.
No pre-loss photos. No record of prior condition. The insured doesn’t know what they had, the adjuster is starting from zero, and you’re fielding calls while the file sits unresolved. Claim takes longer. Everyone is frustrated.
Storm hits. Member activates their vault.
Pre-loss photo documentation is already in the system. The annual inspection report establishes baseline condition. The adjuster has something to work from. Claim opens clean, moves faster, and your client feels taken care of — because you set that up.
What HomeShield delivers
Three things every property owner needs and almost none have set up before a loss event.
Annual Property Health Inspection
A licensed inspector reviews the roof, exterior, and drainage. Hail exposure, ice dam risk, gutter condition, and overall property health are documented in a written report delivered to the member.
Pre-Loss Documentation Vault
Photos, videos, and the written Health Report are stored securely in the member’s HomeShield Vault. Accessible anytime. Ready to share with a carrier, contractor, realtor, or adjuster when it matters.
Storm Event Support
Members receive priority inspection scheduling, updated documentation, and clear guidance on how to open a claim after a weather event — without HomeShield acting as a public adjuster.
What HomeShield does for your book
You’re not being asked to sell a product. You’re being offered a tool that makes your clients better and keeps you top of mind between renewals.
Cleaner Claims From Your Book
Documented insureds arrive at first notice of loss with photos and a baseline inspection report already in hand. That shortens cycles and reduces supplement disputes — outcomes that affect your carrier relationships.
Client Retention That Sticks
The agent who sets their clients up with annual inspections and a documentation vault before anything goes wrong is not the agent a client shops away from at renewal. This is tangible value a lower premium can’t replicate.
Differentiation Without More Work
One mention at new policy issuance or annual review is all it takes. You make the introduction, we handle enrollment, scheduling, and member service. You get the credit with your client.
Three steps. No overhead.
This should take you thirty seconds per client. You make the introduction, we handle everything else.
Make the Introduction
At policy issuance, annual review, or after a weather event, mention HomeShield to your client. One sentence is enough: “I work with a local inspection and documentation program that sets you up before a loss — want me to connect you?”
Send Us Their Info
Email us the client’s name, property address, and contact info at [email protected] or call (763) 307-2168. That’s the only step you handle.
We Handle Enrollment
We reach out directly to your client, walk them through plan options, schedule their first inspection, and set up their vault. You’ll receive a confirmation when they’re enrolled.
Plans for every property type
Monthly and annual options available. Annual pricing with waived onboarding is currently available exclusively through agent referral.
A Note on Scope
HomeShield by NorthStar is an inspection and documentation membership program. It does not provide public adjusting services, negotiate claims, or act on behalf of policyholders in the claims process. Members receive inspections, documentation, and educational support. This distinction keeps HomeShield firmly within the scope of a property-service program, separate from licensed public adjusting activity. Agents referring clients to HomeShield are not referring them to a claims service.
