FieldLens Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Bearon Heeler Acquisitions LLC, d/b/a NorthStar Claims Consulting (“we,” “us,” “NorthStar”), governing your use of the FieldLens mobile app (“FieldLens,” “the app”). By downloading, installing, or using FieldLens, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

  1. Who this app is for

FieldLens is a professional field-inspection tool built for independent and staff insurance adjusters and similar claims professionals. You are responsible for having the authority and any licenses required in your jurisdiction to inspect property, handle claims, and process the loss notices, photos, and personal information you enter into the app.

  1. Your account and data

FieldLens does not require a user account or login. Your inspections, photos, notes, signatures, and profile are stored on your own device, and you are responsible for them, including backing them up (through the app’s export and share features) and for keeping your device secure.

  1. Subscription (FieldLens Pro)
  • FieldLens requires an active FieldLens Pro subscription, billed monthly or yearly through Google Play. There is no free trial.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown in Google Play until you cancel. Manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions.
  • If your subscription lapses, you keep read-only access to the inspections already on your device (you can view, open, and export existing reports), but you cannot create new inspections, capture new photos, run a new scan, or import a new loss notice until you resubscribe.
  • Prices, taxes, and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google’s own policies.
  1. Loss-notice import

When you import a loss notice, FieldLens sends the file to our extraction service to read the fields for you. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting every field before you rely on it, and for only importing notices you are authorized to handle.   1. Report templates and generated reports

FieldLens can fill carrier report templates you import using data you captured in the app, and flags anything it could not fill. You are responsible for reviewing every generated report for accuracy and completeness before you submit it to a carrier, client, or any other party. FieldLens is a drafting tool; it does not review claims, verify coverage, or provide insurance, legal, or professional advice.

  1. Acceptable use

You agree not to use FieldLens to: violate any law or a third party’s rights; access or attempt to access another user’s device or data; reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app or the extraction service; or use the app in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair it, including the daily usage limits on loss-notice import.

  1. Disclaimer of warranties

FieldLens is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app, including measurements, extracted fields, or filled reports, will be error-free or uninterrupted. You are responsible for verifying all measurements and data against your own professional judgment before relying on them.

  1. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NorthStar is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of FieldLens, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to FieldLens is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the twelve months before the claim arose.

  1. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update FieldLens and these terms from time to time. We will post any changes to these terms on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of FieldLens after a change means you accept the updated terms.

  1. Termination

You may stop using FieldLens at any time by uninstalling it and canceling your subscription in Google Play. We may suspend or terminate access to the extraction service for use that violates these terms.

  1. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
